Funeral Thursday for long-time Elkhorn farmer
ELKHORN -- Norman “Nubs” L. Brummel, 85, of Elkhorn, who died Aug. 7 in a vehicle crash, will be remembered during a visitation Wednesday and funeral Thursday, according to a post on the VetsRoll Facebook page.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015 and again from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating, according to his obituary.
Brummel served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Jean A. Sittler on January 29, 1956 in Wheaton, Illinois. They started farming outside of Elkhorn, in 1960.
Brummel was an Army Sgt. Machine Gunner during the Korean war, from 1951-1953.
He traveled on the 2015 VetsRoll trip to Washington D.C. with leaders Becky John Wong and Kimberly Nightingale Schneider and their team.
