Lucille E. MacDonald, age 88, of Janesville, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home, Janesville. She was born in Beloit, on April 22, 1927, the daughter of the late Carl A. and Elsie (Landwehr) Petterson. She attended school in Beloit, and graduated from Beloit High School in 1945. She married Thomas E. MacDonald on Aug. 6, 1955, and he preceded her in death. Lucy and Tom started their own business, MacDonald Trenching Co. in 1966, and operated it for 33 years, retiring in 1999. She was an early member of the Rock Aqua Jays, starting in 1961. Lucille won many individual trophies water skiing at the regional and state levels.
Lucille is survived by her son, Lanny MacDonald of Janesville; three grandchildren: Amanda (Gregory) Werner, Joel MacDonald and Micah MacDonald, all of Janesville; three great grandchildren: Sophia, Phoebe and Max Werner, all of Janesville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents; and brother, Cliff.
A Private family service will be held at MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL. Interment will be in Milton Lawns. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Nursing Home and Agrace HospiceCare, Inc.
