Elaine V. Brown, 93, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the Mercy Hospital in Janesville. She was born on March 13, 1922, in Shadyside, OH, the daughter of the late James and Rhea (Roscoe) Forsythe. Elaine married Robert K. Brown on Dec. 3, 1949 in Beloit. She was a graduate of the Shadyside High School, received her Bachelor’s Degree in home economics from Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree from UW-Whitewater in elementary education. Elaine was an elementary school teacher for 22 years, 19 in the Fort Atkinson school system, before retiring in 1987.

Survivors include Elaine's husband, Robert; one son, James Ralph (Karel) Brown of Fort Atkinson; one daughter, Mary Ann (Robert) Roenneburg of Blue Mounds; two grandchildren, Derek (Kristin) Brown, Megan (Aniq) Sajjad; three great-grandchildren: Paisley, Peyton and Paxton Brown. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Allen Brown; and two brothers, Frank and Bud Forsythe.

Private family services and inurnment will be held at the BELL TOWER in EVERGREEN CEMETERY.
