Manager: Acquisition has no impact on First Weber
PrintJANESVILLE—First Weber Realtors is now a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, but the Janesville office manager said the change in ownership has no impact on the local office.
Home Services of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, announced Tuesday that it had acquired First Weber Realtors, a Wisconsin real estate brokerage firm based in Madison.
“All of the management stays the same,” said Dave Brown, manager of the Janesville office on Holiday Drive. “Nothing's going to change in the First Weber group at all. … We're just doing business (the) same as we have.”
First Weber, which has about 50 offices statewide and 23 employees in Janesville, also retains its name.
Brown said the acquisition was good news, noting that when Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett buys companies, he usually buys those with good management and keeps the management in place.
