Frederick W. Wiltse, Janesville, WI (1918-2015)

Frederick W. Wiltse, 96, of Janesville, died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Cedar Crest Health Center. He was born on Oct. 1, 1918, in Plymouth Township, Rock County, WI, the son of Jay and Ruth (Inman) Wiltse. Fred graduated from Janesville High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Geraldine Nelson on Nov. 12, 1949. She preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2013. He retired from the Janesville Post Office, where he worked for many years as a postal clerk. Fred was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Golden K Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed stamp collecting and playing cards.
Fred Wiltse is survived by three children: Bradley (Sonja) Wiltse of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert Wiltse of New Berlin, WI, Ann (Wayne) Stoever of Beloit; five grandchildren: Scott (Kim) Wiltse, Sarah (Travis) Vaughan, Jennifer (Ryan) Booth, Joseph Colburn, James Colburn; four great-grandchildren: Michelle and Remington Wiltse, Meghan Vaughan and Elliot Booth. In addition to his wife, Geraldine, and his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Wiltse.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 612 N. Randall Avenue, Janesville. Rev. James Melvin will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the CHURCH. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Mausoleum. The Wiltse family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
