Milton School District unveils website redesign
MILTON—After a nearly yearlong development and transfer process, the Milton School District unveiled its website redesign Wednesday.
Residents who took a survey late last year said they wanted to see an interactive calendar, more photos and meaningful and relevant information easy to access on the district's website. The redesign accomplishes all those goals, said Communications Supervisor Jerry Schuetz, who ran point on the project.
Those who visit the new site at milton.k12.wi.us will immediately notice it's more graphically oriented and visually pleasing.
“Our old website was somewhat dated and didn't have many photos of our students,” Schuetz said.
The website features links to school handbooks, local municipalities' websites and a daily lunch menu for each school, Schuetz said.
The redesign, which costs $2,500 annually to host, began early this year after students and parents noted the old website wasn't particularly good, Schuetz said. Technology Supervisor Edward Snow was responsible for moving content from the old site to the new one, which made for a chance to clean house, he said.
The work isn't finished, though.
“It's still ongoing. We're always under a constant state of review,” Snow said.
“It's a living and breathing document we're excited to keep updated,” Schuetz said. “I think it's going to be a communication tool that serves our community and our district well for many years to come."
