Attendance: About 1,600 people are expected to attend, said Doc Sterken, superintendent of the Junior Beef Project at the Walworth County Fair. The cookout has grown since its first year in 2011, when it drew about 800 people, Sterken said.
Why you should go: Attendees can choose how they want their steaks cooked, from rare to well done, Sterken said. Steaks are made to order, so the meat will be fresh and hot when people receive their plates, he said.
Proceeds support the Junior Beef Project and a $1,000 merit award.
Residents look forward to the cookout, Sterken said.
“The people in Walworth County like to support the youth in Walworth County,” he said. “It's for a good cause.”
