Rothschild will speak to local Progressives

JANESVILLE--Matthew Rothschild, executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, will talk to the Rock County Progressives at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8.
He will speak at Basics Cooperative Natural Foods Store, 1711 Lodge Dr., Janesville.
Rothschild is former editor and publisher of The Progressive magazine.
In its 20th year, the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign works to get money out of politics and to ensure transparent government, Rothschild said.
The agency runs a database on all campaign contributions and expenditures in the state. In addition, it posts news stories on its website that reveal the money behind bills in the state Legislature.
Mike McCabe, former executive director, left the campaign-finance watchdog group last year.
