Gerald “Jerry” L. Bumgarner, age 77, of Janesville, entered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, reunited with his loved ones in heaven on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Jerry attended his beloved Dillenbeck Grade School, graduating from Janesville High School with the class of 1956. On Aug. 13, 1960, he married his “best friend,” Muriel Walhovd at St. John Lutheran Church. He served his apprenticeship, and in April of 1976 acquired his Wisconsin Journeyman Plumber’s license. He also took great pride in being the company’s “backhoe” operator. In 1984, he was hired into the skilled trades department at General Motor’s where he remained until his retirement on April 1, 2000. Jerry was a 4-H Leader, Babe Ruth Baseball Coach, Board Member of American Legion Baseball, member of the UAW Local 95, and fifty-five year member of St. John Lutheran Church. His greatest treasures were his seven grandchildren, family, and dear friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Muriel Bumgarner; son, Scott (LeAnn) Bumgarner of Janesville; seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Matthew, Meagan, Sydney and Jack Bumgarner, and Casey and Corrina Robles; a great-grandson, Wyatt Allen; and a sister, Betty L. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon on July 6, 2015, at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Bond Haldeman officiating.
