Xtra Points: Janesville Craig's state baseball title dreams, the Ray Fischer and Finals recaps
Janesville has not seen one of its high school teams win a state championship in any sport since 2001. That could change Thursday.
The Craig baseball team won twice Tuesday to advance to the WIAA Division 1 state title game. The Cougars play Kimberly at 6 p.m. Thursday night in Grand Chute.
Sports editor Eric Schmoldt and John Barry break down how Craig got to this point and preview the championship game. Who will the Cougars start at pitcher? We thought we knew, but plans sounded as if they changed right after our video was shot. We break down the options.
Also on the docket, a little preview of the Ray Fischer State Medal Play Championship, which comes to Janesville next weekend, and the U.S. Open golf tournament at Chambers Bay this weekend.
And we put a wrap on the Stanley Cup Final and the NBA Finals.
As always, our theme music is "Rock Hybrid" by Kevin MacLeod. Find more of his work at his website.
