After 10th OWI arrest, Janesville woman violates her bond, police say
JANESVILLE—A Janesville woman was arrested on a charge of 10th-offense drunken driving June 1.
She appeared in court, where Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer imposed a $5,000 cash bond and ordered she not drink or drive while the case was pending.
She posted the $5,000 cash bond.
Two days after her arrest, Janesville police caught her driving a motorcycle, according to a criminal complaint filed in Rock County Court on Wednesday.
Tracy L. Hatcher, 47, of 1807 S. River Road appeared in Rock County jail court Wednesday, via video from the jail, on a new charge of felony bail jumping for violating the terms of her bond.
Meyer imposed a $7,500 bond on the new charge.
Assistant District Attorney Cheniqua White asked that Hatcher forfeit the old bond, but that issue was delayed until a new hearing is held.
Defense attorney Jack Hoag said he had not had time to talk to his client and asked to continue the hearing to Tuesday. Meyer agreed and set the hearing for 3 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the area of Hatcher's residence after someone saw Hatcher “driving erratically out of her driveway onto the roadway,” the complaint states.
The officer soon spotted three motorcycles, one of them driven by Hatcher, according to the complaint.
