Theft charge filed against Waukesha man accused of not finishing East Troy remodeling project
ELKHORN—A Waukesha man is charged with theft in Walworth County Court after he bailed on a home improvement project he was paid to do for a town of East Troy resident, according to a criminal complaint.
Michael M. Schiessl, 49, is charged with felony theft in a business setting.
Schiessl is accused of receiving a $6,000 down payment for a $7,800 project to remodel a town of East Troy home.
Schiessl was hired in July 2014 and paid cash at the victim's home. Schiessl signed a contract that stated the work would be done by Aug. 15, 2014, the complaint states.
The money was for project materials and labor. Schiessl never showed up for the job, according to the complaint.
Schiessl is free on a signature bond, according to online court records. He will appear in court next at 3 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Walworth County Judicial Center.
