Town of Milton shed fire causes $150,000 damage
TOWN OF MILTON—A late Sunday night fire that caused $150,000 damage to a shed remains under investigation, according to a news release from the Milton and Milton Township Fire Department.
The fire, at 11609 Highway 26, in the town of Milton, was reported at 10:58 p.m. Sunday, said a supervisor at the Rock County Communications Center.
A Rock County Sheriff's Department report cites an unnamed fire chief as saying there were no signs of a suspicious cause.
Firefighters found the metal building engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the release stated.
The shed, owned by Floyd W. Hughes, was insured, according to the release.
The shed contained a tractor, combine, ATV and tools, according to the sheriff's office report.
Area fire departments provided mutual aid at the scene, including Fort Atkinson, Whitewater, Edgerton, Clinton and town of Beloit.
