JANESVILLE—Authorities continue to investigate a Friday motorcycle and pickup truck traffic crash that sent two people to a local hospital, according to a Janesville Police Department spokeswoman.

Steven M. Skoien, 36, of South Grant Ave., Janesville, was driving his motorcycle south on Milton Avenue when he collided with a pickup truck turning west into a nearby parking lot, she said.

Skoien and his passenger, Jacquelyn G. Holmes, 20, of South Beloit, Illinois, were not wearing helmets. He suffered significant injuries, and she suffered broken bones to her arm and leg, according to a department news release.

Both were taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where she was treated and released. No patient information was available Monday for Skoien, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt, according to the police department news release.

The crash was reported at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. Southbound lanes of Milton Avenue, between Morse Street and Highway 14, were closed for about three hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted in investigating the crash.
