Women identified in fatal town of Lyons crash
ELKHORN—Authorities have identified the two women involved in a fatal crash Saturday night in the town of Lyons.
Sarah Enders of the town of Bloomfield was killed and Deidra Dawley of Genoa City was seriously injured after their car crashed into a tree, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's Office news release.
Deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash about 6:03 p.m. Saturday on Townline Road just east of Highway 12.
Dawley was driving the 1995 Honda Accord when it went off the road and hit a tree. Enders, 22, was a passenger and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dawley, 34, was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital with injuries.
Police said excessive speed might have contributed to the crash. It remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff's Office Crash Unit.
The Lyons Fire Department, Flight for Life and the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office also responded to the scene.
