Your Views: Russell Rucker asks your support Tuesday in Orfordville
PrintI am running to be village of Orfordville president. I have been a village trustee for five years. I’ve been open and honest with everyone. I’ve tried to hold down spending. I will talk to the media when I am called, and you will always have access to me. My personal cellphone number is on the Orfordville website and always will be. So you can reach me if you ever have any concerns.
The trustees you elect will all have equal seats among the three main committees, and they will elect their own chairmen. I will set up a public safety committee as the police chief wants and allow him to seek out contracts among the towns in order to reach a full-time force as he has suggested. He says he can do this without additional cost.
It is my intent to have an initial meeting with the department heads to find out how we can best move our village ahead. I would like to work to get a developer back in town so we can finish our planned growth we started years ago. I will seek out and welcome any business to the benefit of residents and public good.
In short, I’ll work hard for all of you. I know I can’t do this alone but am confident I will work with the village board to achieve these goals.
