Joseph Scott Morovits, age 25, a lifelong resident of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, March 9, 2015, at his home following a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Joey was born Sept. 15, 1989, in Janesville, the son of Scott M. and Alice M. (Jess) Morovits. He attended Janesville schools, and was a graduate of Janesville Parker High School, Class of 2008. Joey was a young man who will be remembered by everyone for his wonderful sense of humor. He could always find a joke or the humor in most every situation! He loved playing video games, and made many dear friendships with the other players he met online. He enjoyed watching Anime every day. Joey was not happy with his having MD, but he faced every day with dignity, grace, and always much humor! He lived life the best he could, but he lived on HIS schedule and would let you know it!

Joey is survived by his beloved parents, Alice and Scott; his big brother and best buddy, Nathaniel Morovits; his little brother, Cameron; his loving big sister, Kathryn "Katy" Polzin; Katy's boyfriend and dear family friend, Nick Nolte; Katy's daughter, his niece, Alana Polzin; his little sister, Alesha; his sister, Nadia Morovits; his maternal grandparents, John and Martha Jess; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Judy Morovits; his aunts, uncles, and cousins: Steve and Angela Norman, and their children, Erica and Caroline, Jackie and Tallie Everson, and their children, Amanda and Patrick, Richard and Lynnae Jess, and their children, John and Jenny, and Tom and Connie Jess, and their children, Anna and Cara; and by many friends, especially his very best friend, Nathan Meske; Dawn Vest, and Willy Cook. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kristin Morovits; his uncle/godfather, Dennis Morovits; his Grandma Doris; and Grandpa Wink Briggs; and his Grandma Steph; and Grandpa Joe Morovits.

A Memorial Service celebrating Joey will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the FUNERAL HOME.

Joey's family would like to extend sincerest thanks to Joey's friends and caregivers, Dawn Vest and Willy Cook, for the love, care, compassion, and dignity they gave to Joey through their time with him. Special thanks also go to their Janesville Fire Department family for their care and support, and to Dr. MacNeal, Mercy ER physician, for everything he did for Joey on Monday evening.
