Helen E. Duesterbeck, age 92, of Walworth, WI, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Ridgestone Gardens in Elkhorn, WI. Helen was born Sept. 6, 1922, at Richland Center, WI, to parents, Hanfred and Lillie (Schmidt) Hallett. She was united in marriage to Alvin Duesterbeck on Aug. 8, 1945, at Rockford, IL. She was employed by several of the local businesses in the Walworth community including early on, the drug store, Del’s Bakery, and was involved in the hot lunch program for the Walworth Jr. High and Senior High Schools.
Helen is survived by her children: Duane and wife, Evelyn Duesterbeck of Delavan, WI; Larry and wife, Genevieve Duesterbeck of Summerville, SC; and Esther and husband, Bill Schwabe of Lake Geneva, WI; grandchildren: Teresa and husband, Jerry Farnsworth of Delavan, WI; Lori and husband, Tom Sullivan of Kenosha, WI; Darrell and wife, Tricia Duesterbeck of Sharon, WI; Michael Duesterbeck of NC; Gina Puckhaber of Charleston, SC; Jeff and wife, Jennifer Schwabe of Miamiville, OH; Diana and husband, Jayson Mueller of East Troy, WI; Debra and husband, Tony Schwabe McGrath of Fitchburg, WI; 13 great grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; and four brothers: Orin, Lyle, Harold, and Raymond.
Services for Helen Duesterbeck will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST of Walworth, WI, with Pastor Roger Harris, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the CHURCH. Interment will be in Roselawn Memory Gardens at Williams Bay, WI. TOYNTON FUNERAL HOME of Walworth, WI, is assisting the family with arrangements.
