Jets' win streak over at 17
The Soo Eagles needed a late goal and a shootout victory to end the Janesville Jets' long winning streak.
Leo Lumm scored with 40 seconds left, and the Eagles outscored the Jets 3-1 in a shootout to win 4-3 at the Janesville Ice Arena on Saturday night.
The loss ended a 17-game winning streak for Janesville, which has already wrapped up the NAHL North Division title.
The Jets never trailed in regulation but never led by more than a goal.
Dan Kucerovy, Zach LaValle and Cullen Munson each scored for Janesville. Munson's short-handed tally at 11:40 of the third put the Jets up 3-2, but Lumm provided the Eagles—who had two short-handed goals earlier—with the heroics.
Janesville is home again next Friday and Saturday night when it hosts the Minnesota Magicians.
