James "Jim" S. Santy, Darien, WI (1945-2015)

James “Jim” S. Santy, age 69, of Darien, passed away after a courageous six year battle with cancer on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Butler, PA, on Aug. 13, 1945, to Stewart and Irma (Koch) Santy. Jim graduated from Premontre High School in Green Bay in 1963. He, then, received a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Norbert College and a Master’s Degree in School Psychology from UW-Whitewater. Jim worked in the Delavan-Darien School District from 1971-2001. He married Linda Clark on May 26, 1973. Jim and Linda were very active in the AFS Program during the 1990’s, and hosted three students. Jim enjoyed traveling, coaching, and the Packers. He was extremely active in volunteer work with such organizations as the United Way of Walworth County, Borg Foundation, DDHS Scholarship Foundation, St. Andrew’s Finance Committee, and the Optimist Club.

Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda; three children: Kari (Sam) Ruder of Cocoa, FL, Kim (Justin) Lewis of McFarland, WI, and Scott Santy, of Las Vegas, NV; and three grandchildren, Zoey, Charlie, and Rory Lewis. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at ST. ANDREW’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 115 S. 7th Street, with Fr. Angel Anaya officiating. Visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at MONROE FUNERAL HOME and will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday (today) at the CHURCH. Memorials may be directed to the DDHS Scholarship Foundation, Borg Foundation, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. MONROE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family.
