Hundreds of bald eagles could be saved each year if hunters stopped using lead in their ammunition, one eagle expert tells Glen Loyd. Here's why.

Lead shot leftover in animal carcasses can blind and kill bald eagles. Fortunately hunters are starting to use non-lead ammunition. With the support of many hunters and conservation organizations, lead was banned nationwide for waterfowl hunting in 1991.
