Playoff roundup: Jefferson avenges earlier loss to Big Foot
Garrett Blaeske was too much for Big Foot to stop Friday night.
The Jefferson High senior rushed for 150 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Jefferson past visiting Big Foot 43-28 in a WIAA Division 3 first-round playoff game.
Jefferson plays at Mount Horeb/Barneveld in Level 2 next week.
Blaeske ran for a 22-yard score and then caught a 25-yard scoring pass from Jack Cincotta to give the Eagles a 15-7 halftime lead.
Blaeske then capped a 16-play drive to open the second half with a 1-yard scoring run. The 7 ½-minute drive put the Eagles up 22-7.
Big Foot opened the scoring with a 19-yard pass from Brett Morris to Michael Heidenreich. Heidenreich added two other touchdown receptions from Morris covering 35 and seven yards.
Heidenreich caught six passes for 85 yards, while Quin Dixon had 75 yards on eight carries.

MG quarterback Steven Martine completed touchdown passes of 60 and 29 yards to Trey Powers and an 80-yarder to Toren Young in the first quarter.
Young later scored on a 21-yard run.

• Platteville 31, Clinton 12—The Hillmen found a way to stop Cougars quarterback Derek Severson on the ground to lead Platteville to the road upset.
The Hillmen built a 31-6 lead early in the fourth quarter thanks to 181 rushing yards and a pair of scores from Jacob Bernhardt.
Severson threw for 124 yards and had a touchdown pass to Marc Eliszewski, but Platteville limited the dual-threat standout to just 26 rushing yards on 27 carries.
Peyton Pope carried 10 times for 132 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

• Potosi 44, Williams Bay 24—Potosi built a 37-3 halftime lead to end visiting William Bay’s season.
Bulldogs quarterback John Higgins completed 14 of 34 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Higgins threw a 26-yard scoring pass to Andrew Breen in the fourth quarter and also scored on a five-yard run.
Breen finished with five catches for 98 yards.

• Indian Trail 41, Badger 26—The fifth-seeded Badgers struck first, but host Kenosha Indian Trail put up 28 first-half points on the way to ending Lake Geneva Badger’s season.
Cameron Bishop carried 24 times for 155 yards and four touchdowns for the Hawks.
Badger’s Tyler Vandevelde scored from three yards out to open the scoring midway through the first half before Indian Trail found its groove.
Vandevelde finished with 163 ayrds on 11 carries with two scores in the loss. Mick Borchert threw two touchdown passes and gained 59 yards on the ground.
