Janesville police respond to report of shots fired
JANESVILLE — Janesville police responded to a report of shots fired around 2 p.m. Saturday.
According to a written release from the Janesville Police Department, the disturbance took place at 359 Wilson Ave.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing a loud noise that sounded like a gun shot, according to the release.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who confirmed there was a disturbance in front of the residence, according to the release.
Officers took one subject into custody for unrelated charges. He was arrested after jumping from a second floor window, according to the release.
No weapons were located inside the residence and no evidence was found to show that a gun was fired inside the rental property, according to police.
Officers cleared the residence and the investigation is ongoing.
