Three killed in Walworth County crash
BLOOMFIELD —Three motorists were killed Wednesday night after a two-car crash in Walworth County.
Cheryl L. Porstner, 52, of Lake Geneva; Nicholas M. Helland, 24, of Hebron, Illinois; and Samuel K. Walter, 24, also of Hebron, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Walworth County Coroner's Office.
The Bloomfield Police Department responded to a call of a two-vehicle crash at about 8:25 p.m. on County B east of Spring Creek Road.
Officers found two vehicles with severe front-end damage, one resting on it's roof, according to a news release from Bloomfield police.
The first vehicle, a red 2006 Volkswagen Jetta was driven by Porstner. The second vehicle, a black 2008 Honda Civic, was driven by Helland. Walter was a passenger in Helland's vehicle.
It is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash, according to the release. A cause of death has not yet been released.
County B was closed for more than four hours after the crash. The Wisconsin State Patrol accident reconstruction unit is assisting with the investigation.
