Today is Wisconsin's fall primary election day, with a number of interesting political party nominations at stake locally and statewide.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. statewide.

Primaries likely will determine who will be sheriff both in Rock and Walworth counties.

Primaries also will determine the November election lineups for state Legislature, lieutenant governor, attorney general and U.S. House of Representatives, among others.

Today also is the day to vote for or against Blackhawk Technical College's referendum, which would allow the college to raise property taxes in most of Green and Rock counties by $4 million every year indefinitely.

Same-day voter registration is allowed. To find your polling place, and for voting or registration information, contact your local municipal clerk or go online to gab.wi.gov/voters.
