Everybody who guessed got it right. The first Mystery Plant of the Week (On Facebook) is TULIPS! Image

The tulip in the photo is a fabulous cultivar called “Pink Impression.” It has strong, long stems and giant flowers that change color every day. It is one of the Darwin Hybrid series of tulips. It is a reliable perennializer, meaning it will come back every year if it gets enough sunshine and a wee bit of fertilizer.

We fertilize with Milorganite just after the foliage emerges. Milorganite also works as a deer repellent!

In the above photo, Pink Impression is planted with Canadian Anemone which will hide the tulip foliage after the bulbs are finished blooming.

Next week, and every week, I will post a picture on Facebook of some plant that is blooming or looking fine in Walworth county. You can take a guess at what it is, and I will post the answer in this blog later in the week. They won't all be as easy as this one!

Ask a garden question if you have one, and happy gardening everybody!
