-- The Collegiate DECA club is holding a food drive, toy drive and winter clothing drive through Mon., Dec. 17: People may bring their nonperishable food along with new toys and gently used winter wear such as jackets, boots, hats, gloves and scarves for all ages to Gateway Technical College, 400 County Road H, Elkhorn. There will be bins inside each building.

-- Operation Feed the Need 2012, through Dec. 20: The Fontana Police Department is collecting nonperishible food and cash. A receipt will be made for cash if requested. Drop off donations at the department, 185 Douglas Ave., Fontana or call (262) 275-2275 and an officer will pick up your donation. Food pantries need donations of nonexpired flour, pancake mix, canned fruit and vegetables, spaghetti and sauce, jelly and peanut butter, soup, sugar, syrup, cooking oil, tuna helper, hamburger helper, muffin mix and jello/pudding mix.

-- Holiday Toy Drive for Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter, through Dec. 22: Drop off new or gently used toys at the front desk of Lake Lawn Resort at 2400 E. Geneva St. in Delavan. In return, all toy donors will receive coupons redeemable for discounts on spa services, dining and more at Lake Lawn Resort outlets. Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter is interested in toys for children of all ages, from infants and toddlers to older children and tweens. Examples of toys to donate include sporting equipment, beach toys, dolls, stuffed animals, action figures, puzzles and art supplies. Toys do not need to be wrapped when donated.

-- Santa Paws: Pet Food for Fines, through Dec.30: Help the homeless animals at Lakeland Animal Shelter and reduce your overdue fines at the Aram Public Library. During the month of December, the library, 404 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan, will collect pet food (both canned and dry) and clay cat litter for the animal shelter. In exchange for your donation, the library will reduce your overdue fines. This program does not apply to fees for lost or damaged items.

-- Burlington Cares food drive through Dec. 31: Bring your nonperishable food items or monetary donations to the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, City or Town of Burlington Administration office or Love Inc., Help keep the Love Inc. food pantry shelves stocked. -- Donate new hats, scarves and gloves and nonperishible food items through Dec. 31: Support the Delavan community by donating cold-weather accessories for local school children and food for the Delavan Food Pantry. Drop off at Community Bank, 820 E. Geneva St., Delavan. (262) 728-2265

-- Operation Burlington Cares food drive, through Dec. 31: Burlington wants to make sure their neighbors have food on their table. Help stock the shelves at Love Inc. by dropping off your donations at the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, city or town of Burlington administration office or at Love Inc. (262) 763-6044

-- Lake Geneva Public Library Giving Tree mittens, hats and scarves collection, through Jan. 3: The Lake Geneva Public Library Board of Trustees invites the community to provide warmth and comfort to needy individuals in Lake Geneva by donating winter accessories. New or hand-knit donations of all sizes for men, women, and children of all ages are appreciated through Friday, January 3. The items will be distributed to local charities. Receipts for tax purposes are available on request. (262) 249-5299.

-- Fill the food pantry shelves collection, through Jan. 3: The Animal Medical Center of Whitewater, 12524 E. County Highway N, Whitewater is a drop off location for donations of nonperishable food items for people and pets. Items will help stock the shelves of the Whitewater Food Pantry. Drop off your donation and receive a 10 percent on purchases or services for the day. (262) 473-5800

-- The Big Bundle Up collection runs through Jan. 4: The Wisconsin Department of Tourism is holding The Big Bundle Up — a collection program of new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing. Area tourism agencies are participating. Drop off your items at one near you: 

The Geneva Lake West Chamber of Commerce: A collection box will be located at the chamber office, 175 Valley View Drive, Fontana, for warm clothing items, which will be given to local charities in the Geneva Lake West area. Delavan-Delavan Lake Area Chamber of Commerce: Items will be collected from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the chamber office, located at 52 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan. (262) 728-5095

-- Holiday Care program collection of new toys and clothing for children and money to purchase gift certificates for food, ongoing: Last year, this program served 637 families with 1,105 children. Drop off donations to Department of Health and Human Services Center, attention Holiday Care, W4051 County Highway NN, Elkhorn. Mail donations to Walworth County Holiday Care, Dept of Health and Human Services, PO Box 1005, Elkhorn, WI 53121. (262) 741-3246

-- Walworth-Fontana Rotary Club collecting donations for Food Basket Distribution project: This year the club is in need of a $50 sponsorship for each basket. Make checks payable to Walworth-Fontana Rotary Foundation Inc., PO Box 368, Walworth WI 53184. -- People and pet food collection ongoing: Drop off your nonperishable people and pet food for the Elkhorn Food Pantry to help feed area families and the pets they love. Drop items off at the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic, 205 E. O’Connor Drive, Elkhorn. (262) 723-2644

-- Support our troops, ongoing: The Support Our Troops Committee/ American Legion is looking for donations of baseball/softball gloves and balls to be sent to troops with ties to Walworth County who are deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
