Janesville has been on a spending spree with the goal of removing blighted structures, increasing owner-occupied homes and reducing density in targeted inner-city neighborhoods.
A unique feature to the Victorian Home at 189 S High is the floor-based double-hung windows that have been restored in the living room.

The kitchen at 189 S High St was completely remodeled. The space was expanded across what used to be a hallway, bathroom and the old kitchen.

The entryway at 189 S High now has exposed brickwork which was uncovered and restored. The original turret railing is in place but new carpet made from recycled bottles was used for the stairway and upper floors of the house.
