Kewaunee' s Amanda Kudick leaps over East Troy's Carlie Schultz during the first half of the Division 3 championship in the WIAA Girls State Basketball Championship.

— A basket by Alex Richard before the buzzer lifted Kewaunee to its second straight WIAA Division 3 girls basketball state title with a 60-58 win over East Troy on Saturday.

A drive to the basket and a pass from Jill Kleiman to an open Richard on the left side decided the outcome.

Kelsey Stangel scored a game-high 27 points for the Storm (27-1), which overcame an early 13-point deficit.

Richard added 16 points as Kewaunee, playing in the state championship for the third straight year, became the first repeat Division 3 champion since Cuba City won three in a row from 2005-07.

Rachel Atchison led East Troy (26-2) with 21 points. Breanna Gaspervich had 13 points.

Kewaunee rallied after having 14 turnovers in the opening half.
