— State officials say there are easy ways taxpayers can file their returns faster and with greater security.

The Department of Revenue says filing early is the key, and taxpayers can use the department's e-filing system to file online.

After e-filing, taxpayers should regularly check their refund status.

Officials say taxpayers should also have their refund deposited directly into their accounts, or if they owe, make the payment online.
