— A 27-year-old East Troy man is facing criminal charges, including driving under the influence of drugs, after a crash on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee County Monday, according to a story on Fox6 News.

Milwaukee County sheriff’s officials said Jacob Middleton’s pickup truck slowly crossed all three lanes of traffic on the interstate before rolling down an embankment, knocking down a freeway sign, and crashing into the on-ramp wall.

When Greenfield Fire Department personnel arrived on the scene to attend to his injuries, Middleton was combative with them.

Middleton was taken to an area hospital for facial injuries.

Sheriff’s officials found heroin and drug paraphernalia in Middleton’s truck. A preliminary investigation indicated Middleton injected heroin while on the freeway, then lost control of his vehicle.

Middleton is being charged with possession of heroin, and driving under the influence of drugs, felonies that could lead to up to 25 years of prison time.
