— The East Troy girls' basketball team wasn't about to spend next weekend at home after cheering on the boy's team to a state tournament birth last Friday.

This week, fans of East Troy basketball will be heading north to the Resch Center in Green Bay for the WIAA girls state basketball championship.

The Trojans led from start-to-finish Saturday with a 54-38 win over the Flying Dutchmen of Oostberg in a WIAA Division 3 sectional final at Arrowhead.

This will be the second trip to state for the East Troy girls, who fell to Oostberg 54-38 in last year's semifinal.

The loss snapped Oostburg’s streak of six straight trips to state, and a string of eight consecutive wins in sectional finals.
