Severe weather spotter courses offered

— Weather spotter courses are being offered next month through the Walworth County Emergency Management Office to teach participants to spot storms from the ground and report them to area weather services.

Courses are webinar-based presentations conducted by the National Weather Service out of its Milwaukee/Sullivan office. Classes are free and open to the general public. No reservations are necessary.

A basic weather spotter classwill be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and an advanced weather spotter class will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.--both on Thursday, April 4, at the Lake Geneva City Hall 626 Geneva St., Lake Geneva.

A basic course will also be offered from 1 to 3 p.m., and an advanced course will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.--both on Monday, April 8, at the City of Delavan Fire Department’s station house, 811 Ann St., Delavan.
