— Rep. Steve Nass (D-Whitewater) thinks a pair of manufacturing marketing bills discussed in the state Assembly last week is more bipartisan showmanship and a giveaway on the taxpayer's dollar than a way to bring jobs into the state, according to a story in the Wisconsin Reporter.

Reps. Andy Jorgensen (D-Fort Atkinson) and Scott Krug (R-Rome) authored bills that would, respectively, direct the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. organize trade shows, and give $1 million in taxpayer money to the Tool and Die Machining Association of Wisconsin to advertise and man those trade shows.

Jorgensen said the bills will help create jobs for residents. Nass said the money seems earmarked for one specific association, and doubts the effort will create any jobs.
