— When the position of head coach for the University of Wisconsin Badgers football team was vacant last month, the school posted the job on its human resources website like any other opening.

The job listing proved irresistible for a number of less-than-qualified applicants who submitted a resume just to say they did—including Lake Geneva Badger High School’s head football coach, Matt Hensler.

According to a story on Fox Sports Wisconsin, Hensler, 40—who also once applied for the Chicago Bears offensive coordinator position--knew he had no shot, but was simply aiming for a rejection letter on UW-Badgers letterhead he could frame for his rec room wall.

Read the stack of application letters.

Hensler even wrote a tongue-in-cheek application letter noting his “Badgers” connection, and saying thanks to his current coaching position, he wouldn’t have to change anything from his wardrobe to his stationary if he got the job.
