-- ISAIAH T. USHER, 19, of 215 Menhall Drive, Edgerton, at 1:20 p.m. Monday at 1924 Dupont Drive, Janesville, on charges of child abuse and damage to property. He is accused of striking a juvenile. The victim complained of pain but had no obvious signs of injuries, police said.
Intoxicated driving arrests
-- TAYLOR R. HANEY, 20, of 2113 Randolph Road, Janesville, at 3:10 a.m. Monday at the Janesville Police Department after the pickup truck he was driving hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle on Greenwood Drive, Janesville.

-- THEFT OF A FIREARM reported at 7:10 p.m. Sunday from an apartment in the 2600 block of Harvard Drive, Janesville. The residents reported that upon their return to the apartment, they discovered that a 9 mm handgun was missing, along with a bottle of brandy, a safe and its contents, a pistol grip cover and an empty 15-round magazine. A Janesville police officer reported later that day that he might have found the safe, the pistol grip and the magazine on Randolph Road.
-- ROBBERY BY USE OF A WEAPON reported at 4:53 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Center Avenue. A 17-year-old Beloit man reported that he was robbed by two males who fled the scene in a car. The car was later located, but suspects have yet to be identified.
-- THEFT OF A CASHIER'S CHECK reported at 8:23 a.m. Jan. 8 in the 6000 block of North Consolidated School Road, Janesville. A woman said someone apparently took from her mailbox an envelope mailed to her that contained a cashier's check totaling $5,800.
-- BURGLARY reported at 11:58 a.m. Dec. 31. A woman reported theft of several items from storage sheds at 813 S. Kessler Road, Janesville.
-- THEFT OF AN ICE SHANTY reported at 7:10 a.m. Jan. 7 at 13000 block of East County Highway N, Whitewater. A man said he borrowed a friend's black and blue-colored Clam 2000 ice shanty valued at $250 and left it out overnight on the sidewalk behind his residence. In the morning, the ice shanty was gone.
Fire call
-- MINIVAN FIRE at 5:55 p.m. Monday at the entrance to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. The fire in the engine compartment had been extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
Charged
-- WAYNE J. JONES, 53, of 215½ W. Milwaukee St., Apt. B, Janesville, with two counts of violating restraining orders and two counts of felony bail jumping. He is accused of making phone calls that violated a domestic abuse restraining order on Jan. 8 and 9 in Janesville.
-- TRENTON E. STROMMEN, 28, of 1863 Yates Ave., Beloit, with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, being a felon in possession of pepper spray and possession of drug paraphernalia. A police officer reported finding 123 grams of marijuana in Strommen's car during a Sunday traffic stop in Janesville.
-- DOMINIC S. SCIANNA, 29, of 502 Linn St., Apt. A, Janesville, with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug-trafficking place and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on suspicion of selling marijuana on Sept. 2 in Janesville. An officer reported finding 60 grams of marijuana in a backpack in Scianna's car as well as a cellphone with text messages that appeared to be requests for drugs.
