Whitewater police are looking for a suspect in a robbery Jan. 5 at the Walgreens pharmacy in Whitewater, according to a City of Whitewater Police Department release.
The suspect is a white male in his upper 20s to mid-30s, approximately 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with a slender build.
Police noted there have been similar robberies in Whitewater, Delavan, Janesville and Madison.
According to the release, possibly two people may be involved in the robberies, but only one individual generally comes into the pharmacies, typically after noon, during normal business hours.
The suspect usually wears a thick jacket and hood, exposing only his eyes. He has walked around the pharmacy aisles with his hands inside his pockets for as long as 13 minutes, waiting until other customers are away from the pharmacy. He then presents the pharmacy employee with a note requesting prescription drugs.
The suspect then exits the store with the prescription drugs and flees.
The suspect doesn't speak, and hasn't displayed any weapons.
Whitewater police said these suspects are defeating the surveillance cameras with their clothing and knowledge of camera placement, and they do not appear to be deterred by cameras.
