Winterfest returns to Lake Lawn in Delavan

— Lake Lawn Resort, located at 2400 E. Geneva St. along Wisconsin Highway 50 in Delavan, is bringing back Winterfest January 18-20. The event will include everything from horse-drawn sleigh or hay rides to sledding hills, ice-skating and other outdoor activities.

A series of circus-themed snow sculptures on Lake Lawn’s grounds are reminders of Delavan’s connection as the first circus community in the state of Wisconsin.In addition, sledding hills and snow forts will be found throughout the property, as well as bonfires and s’mores. Winterfest is open to both guests of Lake Lawn and the community.

Cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails will be open all weekend with a special snowshoe obstacle course and cross-county ski competition on Saturday from 1–4 p.m. Also featured are turkey bowling and snow golf, available on Saturday. Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Gift of Wings will demonstrate their giant kite skills highlighting kites over 100 feet in length. Additionally, MAXX Motorsports and Alpine Valley Ski Hill will have booths onsite to share information about snowmobiles and downhill skiing in the area.For the sportsman, Fish Lips Outdoors will be in attendance to share their knowledge on winter fishing, as well as their ice-fishing tournament in February.
