Two teens hospitalized after single-car crash

— Two teenagers were hospitalized with multiple lower leg injuries after their car crashed into a tree Tuesday morning on Sheridan Springs Road near Back Road in the town of Lyons, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The car’s driver, Danielle J. Curley, 19, of rural Burlington, and a 17-year-old passenger whose name has not yet been released, were extricated from their vehicle and taken by Flight for Life helicopters to Milwaukee-area hospitals. Their current conditions are not known.

According to the release, sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash about 7:48 a.m. Tuesday.

An initial investigation revealed that Curley was driving eastbound on Sheridan Springs Road when her car left the roadway and hit a tree.

The crash remains under investigation.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by Lake Geneva and Lyons Fire and Rescue units, the City of Lake Geneva Police Department, and OSF Lifeline.
