— A Lake Geneva man died Tuesday when his car collided with a milk hauler on Highway 11 west of Delavan.

Carlos R Cantu, age 44, of Lake Geneva, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, according to a Walworth County Sheriff's office news release.

Cantu apparently lost control driving east on the snow-covered highway and went into the westbound lane near Old 89 Road around 11:20 a.m., according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

A westbound milk hauler hit the car on its driver's side.

As of 1:45 p.m. both directions of Highway 11 remained closed between Klug Road and Highway 14.

The 31-year-old truck driver also was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. No citations are expected.

The Wisconsin State Patrol was notified and dispatched a member of their post-crash truck team to inspect the milk hauler. The Walworth County Crash Investigation Unit was also dispatched to investigate the crash of the two vehicles.

Assisting Walworth County Sheriff was Wisconsin State Patrol, Delavan-Darien PD, Darien Fire and Rescue, and the Walworth County Coroner’s Office.
