— Late winter is a good time to do something indoors, but don’t curl up on the couch. Instead of turning on the television, see a live drama, comedy or musical. Reserve your seats: local theater productions abound in the coming weeks, with a wide offering of performances.

The Whitewater High School Players’ production of Neil Simon’s classic comedy, “The Good Doctor,” will be on stage Feb. 28 through March 3. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, at the auditorium of Whitewater High School, 534 South Elizabeth St., Whitewater.

Tickets are $7 for adult, $5 for seniors and students. Tickets are on sale at the WHS Box Office or call (262) 472-8178 for reservations.

“The Good Doctor” is a series of sketches based on the writings of Anton Chekhov. In one sketch a feisty old woman storms a bank and upbraids the manager for his gout and lack of money. In another, a crafty seducer goes to work on a wedded woman, only to realize that the woman has been in command from the first overture.

Under the direction of Jim McCulloch, the talented cast and crew includes: Tyler Myszkewicz, Shawn Carey, Matt Lema, Ben Hanson, Melissa Mursch, Connor Dalzin, Erin McManaway, Yvanna Strait, Caleb Hintz, Sally-Kate Hixson, Marren McCulloch, Aubrey Gard, Emma Stutzman, Travis Winger, Destiny Fuchs, Ben Matthews, Janie Triebold, Liz Carey, Leif Sayhun, Jason Shelbourn, Jamison Zaballos and Ali Sedmak.
