McFarland utilizes halftime rest

The second half was the difference Tuesday night for McFarland High's boys basketball team.

With the game tied 23-23 at half, McFarland outscored Edgerton by eight points in the second half en route to a 61-53 Rock Valley North win.

Brandon Doll and Cory Frank combined for 25 points as the Spartans clinched at least a share of second place in the North.

Cameron Wileman had a game-high 23 points for Edgerton, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

Brett Prahl scored a game-high 25 points and Alex Prahl added 17 for East Troy. Teammate Nate Dodge added 15 points.

-- Evansville 54, Whitewater 45—Owen Schoenenberger and Matt Sperry scored 13 points apiece for the Blue Devils.

Evansville trailed 32-28 at the half, but gained a 6-0 advantate in the third quarter for a 34-32 lead. Bryan Rutkowski scored six of his seven points in the fourth quarter as Evansville gained a 20-13 advantage to seal the victory.

Paul Pelayo scoerd 15 points for Whitewater.

-- Parkview 54, Brodhead 49—Christian Hobson scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the second half, including 10 in the fourth quarter as the Vikings held on to win on Senior Night.

Charlie Thole provided a critical floater off the glass to help Parkview regain momentum as the team moved to 4-10 in conference play and 5-15 overall.

Griffin Day, Ned Slocum and Josiah DeLorme each scored 10 points for Brodhead, which fell to 1-13 and 4-16.

-- Clinton 51, Palmyra-Eagle 31—Cody Risseeuw scored 13 of his game-high 17 points in the second half as the Rock Valley South champion Cougars pulled away from the Panthers.

Clinton held Palmyra-Eagle to 12 points in the first half en route to improving to 12-3 in the conference and 16-5 overall.

Nate Behr led the Panthers, who fell to 4-10 and 9-11, with 10 points.

Andrew Bartz scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half, Evan Metzger scored 12 of his 16 points and Aaron Bartz scored 10 of his 15 points for Turner.

Big Foot did not have a player score in double figures.
