Whitewater men roll over Platteville

A big first half carried the UW-Whitewater men's basketball team Wednesday night.

The Warhawks raced out to a 16-point halftime lead and coasted to a 64-50 WIAC win over UW-Platteville.

Darnell Harris continues to impress for the Warhawks on both ends of the court. The 6-foot-7 freshman forward from Milwaukee Hamilton had 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Quardell Young led four Warhawks in double figures with 18 points. Harris added 13, while Elkhorn's Eric Bryson had 12 and Luke Knoble 10.

Whitewater outrebounded Platteville 39-25 and limited the Pioneers to 30 percent shooting (16-53) from the field.

The Warhawks host UW-Superior at 1 p.m. Saturday.
