— Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a man they say stole expensive rings from Kohl's department stores in Janesville, Wausau and Moline, Ill.

According to a Wisconsin Crime Alert Network news release:

A white man in his mid-40s stole two diamond rings from Kohl's in Wausau at about 2 p.m. Jan. 19. He asked to look at two rings and then took them while the employee was retrieving boxes.

One of the rings had a 14-karat gold band with three diamonds, and the second had a gold band with a silver inlaid pattern.

In the Janesville theft, police responded at 2:56 p.m. Dec. 18 to the store. There the man stole one ring valued at $3,700 and another at $350. The suspect also stole expensive rings from Kohl's in Moline, Ill., on Jan. 12.

The suspect is believed to be about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with large glasses, about 170 to 190 pounds and has reddish/brown hair with a receding hairline. He was wearing a dark blue pea coat and blue jeans in the Wausau store.

If you have information about the identity of the man, contact Det. Chris Buescher at the Janesville Police Department at 608-755-3147.
