Risseeuw comes through in second half

— Senior Cody Risseeuw scored 15 of his game-high 23 points in the second half to lead Clinton to a 44-42 come-from-behind victory over Oregon on Tuesday night in nonconference boys basketball.

The Cougars trailed 33-30 after three quarters, but Risseeuw scored five points and Cal DeWitt added both of his buckets in the fourth. Clinton was clutch at the free-throw line, sinking 10 of 13. Risseeuw was 5 of 6 from the stripe.

Daniel Schwartz led Oregon with 14 points, all of them coming after halftime.

The Cougars improved to 14-5 overall.

-- Turner 62, Juda 41—Evan Metzger scored a career-high 31 points and added 10 rebounds as the Trojans jumped out to a double-digit lead and cruised to a nonconference victory Tuesday.

Metzger buried five shots from beyond the arc to help Turner improve to 8-10 overall this season.

Capitol Conference

Jason Eternick scored 25 points to lead the Lakeside Lutheran boys basketball team to a 69-62 victory over host Columbus in Capitol Conference boys basketball action Tuesday.

Logan Birkholz added 13 points, and Micah Torgerson 10 for the Warriors,w ho imporved to 5-3 in the conference and 14-5 overall.

Aaren Armatoski led five Cardinal scorers in double figures with 14 points. Columbus is 3-5 in the league.
