— Tagg Romney, son of Republican presidential candidate, made an appearance in front of about 200 people Saturday at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn, according to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Romney made speech at the Wiswell Center, along with former Gov. Tommy Thompson and Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republic National Committee. The three were there for the annual First District Fall Fest.

Any mention of poll numbers showing a lead for Obama and Democrat Tammy Baldwin, running against Thompson for a U.S. Senate seat, were absent from the speeches. Romney and Priebus also brushed off concerns about a recently released video of Mitt Romney at a fundraiser in May, talking about people receiving government assistance.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama made a stop in Milwaukee Saturday for a fundraiser and later a rally at the Summerfest grounds. The president spoke to a crowd of more than 5,000 people who filled the BMO Harris Pavilion and stood outside the building.

First lady Michelle Obama is slated to be in Appleton later this week.
