WOODSTOCK--Critically acclaimed and popular guitarist Leo Kottke will appear in concert at the Woodstock Opera House on Fri., Sept. 14 and Sat., Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. both nights. This is Kottke’s 27th consecutive year performing at the Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St., Woodstock.

Kottke is an extraordinary acoustic guitarist, widely known for his innovative fingerpicking style, which draws on influences from blues, jazz, and folk music, and his syncopated, polyphonic melodies. His shows are constantly changing with creative new musical compositions year after year along with his eccentric humorous stage banter.

In concert, Kottke intersperses humorous monologues with vocal and instrumental selections from throughout his career, and plays solo on his signature 6- and 12-string guitars..

Kottke, who never had a guitar lesson, is multi-winner of Guitar Player Magazine’s readers poll as “Best Folk Guitarist,” and Performance Magazine has dubbed him as best instrumentalist.

Tickets for the concert are available at the Opera House box office; call (815) 338-5300.
