Two deaths from probable West Nile virus in state
MILWAUKEE The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports two deaths from probable cases of West Nile virus.
The department tells WISN-TV that one death was a 78-year-old Milwaukee County woman and the other was a 71-year-old Waukesha County woman.
State health officials say there are 13 probable human cases in several counties, including Milwaukee are Waukesha counties. All of the Waukesha cases were people over the age of 50.
Officials say the mosquito-borne virus is hitting Wisconsin later than normal because of the hot, dry summer.
People are urged to take precautions around mosquitoes.
