DELAVAN--After a storm passed through Walworth County last night, workers in the city of Delavan removed a tree from the corner of Second and Wisconsin streets this morning.

"We've had some smaller branches down that pulled down a couple of telephone lines, but the tree was the worst of the damage," said Mark Wendorf, public works director for the city of Delavan.

The National Weather Service in Sullivan predicts a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. today, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible. The day will be mostly cloudy with a high near 87.

It will remain partly cloudy tonight, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., a low around 59 and winds from the northwest at 5 mph.

Thursday will be sunny and cooler, with a high near 79.
