Proceeds from teal-frosted cupcakes will be sold at Whitewater's SweetSpot Sept. 21-30 to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Sales from the bakery and cafe will benefit three different charities during September. Submitted photo.

The SweetSpot, a bakery and cafe located at 226 W. Whitewater St., Whitewater, will be baking and selling three different cupcakes for three different charities this month.

From Sept. 1-10, Pupcakes (cupcake treats for dogs) will be for sale. All proceeds from these dog biscuit-topped cupcakes will benefit the Best Friends Animal Society's annual "Strut your Mutt" fundraiser, which supports animal shelters across the country.

From Sept. 11-10, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes topped with purple frosting will raise money for the Alzheimer's Association during Alzheimer's Awareness Month.

The final 10 days of the month, proceeds from the sale of teal-frosted cupcakes will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Wisconsin in honor of Ovarian Cancer awareness month.

SweetSpot owner and general manager Lacey Reichwald said giving back to the community is an important part of her small business outlook.

"The cool thing is, all three of these cupcake ideas come to us from customers who also love to make a difference," Reichwald said. "We couldn't choose just one, so we want to celebrate all three."

SweetSpot customers can also purchase paper hearts to benefit the American Heart Association. Each heart supports The SweetSpot employee team's goal of raising $1,000 for the Fort Atkinson/Whitewater Heart Walk on October 7.
